Ingredients
Method
Prepare the banana split dish
- Slice the banana in half lengthwise and place both halves in a long dish so they form a cradle for the ice cream.
Add ice cream layers
- Nestle the three scoops of ice cream between the banana halves, keeping each flavor in its own spot.
Drizzle sauces and fruit
- Drizzle hot fudge over the chocolate scoop, then drizzle strawberry sauce over the strawberry scoop, and spoon crushed pineapple over the vanilla scoop.
Finish with toppings
- Top with whipped cream and sprinkle chopped peanuts over the top for crunch and contrast.
Serve
- Finish with a maraschino cherry on top and serve immediately to keep the toppings looking fresh.
Notes
For the cleanest banana slices, use a banana that’s slightly frozen (about 10 minutes in the freezer) before assembling. Set out the sauces and toppings in small bowls so you can build quickly. Refrigerate leftovers up to 1 day, but expect the ice cream to melt and the banana to soften; freezing is not recommended. For a lighter option, use sugar-free ice cream and a no-sugar-added hot fudge sauce if available.
