Grilled Peaches with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar

Grilled peaches with cinnamon and brown sugar are caramelized on the grill until glossy, golden, and tender in about 10 minutes. Cut-side down grilling creates a warm caramel layer that clings to each peach half, making a quick summer dessert or side.

Ingredients

4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
  • 4 peaches Use ripe but still firm peaches so they hold their shape on the grill.
2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
  • 1 vanilla ice cream Optional topping for serving.

Method

Grill and prep
  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat and oil the grates well to prevent sticking.
  2. Brush the cut side of each peach half with melted butter.
  3. Mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle generously over the peaches.
Caramelize the peaches
  1. Place peaches cut-side down on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes until you see golden, glossy caramelization at the edges.
  2. Flip and grill for another 3-4 minutes until the peaches are tender and caramelized.
Serve
  1. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For the cleanest caramel, keep peaches firm and avoid moving them right after they hit the grates. Store leftover grilled peaches in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; rewarm gently on the grill or in a skillet. Freezing is not recommended for best texture. Dietary swap: use a dairy-free butter alternative and skip the ice cream for a dairy-free version.
