Ingredients

Crackers
  • 1 sleeve round buttery crackers Use crackers that hold up well for stacking and bite-sized layering.
Meat and cheese
  • 8 slice deli turkey or ham Fold each slice into a smaller piece so it sits neatly and stays stable.
  • 8 slice cheddar or Colby jack cheese Quarter the slices for easy stacking on top of the meat.
Optional add-ins
  • 0.5 cherry tomatoes Halve for small bursts of juiciness; optional.
  • 0.25 cup mini pretzels Add alongside for extra crunch; optional.

Method

Build the stacks
  1. Arrange the crackers on a plate or in lunchbox compartments so each stack has a starting base.
  2. Fold each deli turkey or ham slice into a compact piece, then top one cracker with the folded meat.
  3. Quarter the cheddar or Colby jack cheese and place one piece on top of the meat for a tidy layer.
  4. Repeat layering until you have as many cracker stackers as needed, keeping the stack sizes consistent.
Add variety and serve
  1. Add cherry tomatoes (halved) or mini pretzels alongside each stack if you want extra color and crunch.
  2. Serve immediately for the crispiest bite, or pack into an airtight container to keep the crackers from softening.

Notes

Pro tip: fold the meat rather than laying it flat so each layer nests and the stack stays neater. For storage, assemble the components separately and refrigerate in airtight containers up to 2 days, then stack right before eating to keep crackers crisp; freezing is not recommended. Dietary swap: use sliced deli turkey/ham alternatives like vegetarian deli slices if you want a meat-free version while keeping the same stacking method.
