Ingredients

espresso
  • 2 espresso shots Brew fresh for best flavor.
apple syrup
  • 2 tbsp apple syrup Adjust to taste if your syrup is very sweet.
spice
  • 0.25 tsp cinnamon Ground cinnamon for a crisp, spiced aroma.
oatmilk
  • 0.5 cup oatmilk Use barista-style if you have it; it blends smoother.
ice
  • 1 ice Use fresh ice for faster chilling.

Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker

Method

Shake the espresso
  1. Add espresso shots, apple syrup, and cinnamon to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until frothy and well chilled. Keep the shaker moving to build foam.
Assemble and serve
  1. Fill a glass with fresh ice. Strain the shaken espresso mixture over the ice.
  2. Top with a splash of oatmilk. Pour lightly so the foam stays visible.
  3. Stir gently before serving. Serve immediately for the best frothy texture.

Notes

Pro tip: shake hard and fast so the drink turns uniformly frothy before it hits the glass. Refrigerate any leftover espresso mixture in a sealed container for up to 24 hours, then shake again briefly with a fresh handful of ice and strain; add oatmilk right before serving. Freezing isn’t recommended because the foam and oatmilk texture break down. If you want it dairy-free, this recipe already is; for lower sweetness, reduce apple syrup to 1 tbsp while keeping cinnamon the same.
