Shape and sauce
- Roll the pizza dough into a circle, keeping it an even thickness so it bakes at the same rate.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for a crust.
Add the jack-o-lantern face
- Top with the shredded cheddar and shredded mozzarella so the cheese melts and “sticks” into the pumpkin face shape.
- Add pepperoni slices and black olives as eyes and a mouth, pressing them lightly into the cheese so they don’t slide.
- Place the green bell pepper strips to form the pepper stem on top of the pizza for the jack-o-lantern look.
Bake
- Bake on a sheet pan at 450°F for 15 minutes, until the crust is set and the cheese is fully melted with visible bubbling.
Notes
Pro tip: for a stronger jack-o-lantern orange color, tint the cheddar by using sharp orange cheddar. Store leftover pizza in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat in a hot oven or toaster oven until warm. Freezing: yes, freeze slices for up to 2 months and reheat from thawed. Dietary swap: use part-skim cheese or a reduced-fat mozzarella/cheddar blend to lower calories while keeping the melty texture.
