Ingredients

chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 package chocolate pudding mix
cold milk
  • 2 cup cold milk
whipped topping
  • 8 oz whipped topping
Oreos
  • 20 Oreos, crushed
Milano cookies
  • 1 Milano cookies, for tombstones
gummy worms
  • 1 Gummy worms

Method

Make the chocolate pudding
  1. Whisk the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Chill for 5 minutes in the refrigerator until slightly thickened.
  2. Fold the whipped topping into the chilled pudding until no streaks remain. Keep it cold while you crush the Oreos and prepare the cups.
Assemble the dirt cups
  1. Layer the chocolate pudding and crushed Oreos in cups, alternating for visible “dirt” layers. Press lightly to help the layers settle.
  2. Top each cup with a generous layer of crushed Oreos for cookie dirt. Make the surface look uneven for a graveyard effect.
  3. Place Milano cookie tombstones into each cup. Set them upright so they look like standing headstones.
  4. Add gummy worms on top and around the tombstones. Arrange them to peek out from the cookie dirt for a spooky finish.

Notes

Pro tip: write the tombstone words with icing while the cookies are dry, and press the tombstones in gently so they don’t crack. Store assembled cups covered in the refrigerator for 1–2 days; they don’t freeze well due to the whipped topping texture. For a lighter swap, use reduced-fat whipped topping or light whipped topping if you want a lower-calorie version without changing the layering method.
