Ingredients

Brownie batter
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 0.75 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup white chocolate chips, melted Melted, for web lines.

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Prep and bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9x13-inch pan.
  2. Melt the butter, then whisk in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Stir in the flour, dark cocoa powder, and salt until no dry streaks remain, then spread into the pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, until the center looks set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Cool and decorate
  1. Cool the brownies completely before decorating, so the white chocolate doesn’t melt or smear.
  2. Draw concentric white chocolate circles over the top, then drag a toothpick outward to make a spider web pattern.

Notes

Cool completely before decorating for clean web lines. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days; freeze baked brownies for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free swap, use a 1:1 plant-butter alternative and dairy-free white chocolate chips.
